Il doppio album Faces esce nel 1980 ed ottiene il disco d'oro. Dopo l'uscita del disco Al McKay, chitarrista di lungo corso, lascia la band per diventare produttore ed è rimpiazzato dal chitarrista Roland Bautista, già membro in una delle prime formazioni degli EWF che - rispetto a McKay - dà al gruppo un suono leggermente più rock.
Faces è un effervescente pop-funky pageant con un sacco di colore ,brani meno “black”e più pop anche negli arrangiamenti.
Grande slancio per questo cd che non contiene un brano “hit” ma con la caratteristica di essere coinvolgentissimo e con brani,forse un po simili,ma molto trascinanti.
